Basil Joseph is one of the most promising among the young lot of Malayali filmmakers. Coming from the Vineeth Sreenivasan school, Basil delivered back to back hits in ‘Kunjiramayanam’ and ‘Godha’. For his next, he is all set to team up with veteran actor Biju Menon. ‘Thondimuthalum Driksakshiyum’ fame Sajeev Pazhoor, who won the National Award for best screenplay, is scripting this upcoming movie as well. Sophia Paul’s Weekend Blockbusters is funding the movie.
Interestingly, Biju Menon has already worked with the director Basil, writer Sajeev and the production house, Weekend Blockbusters. The actor played a cameo role in Basil’s directorial debut ‘Kunjiramayanam’. They also shared screen space in ‘Padayottam’, which is currently running successfully in theatres.
Biju Menon and writer Sajeev Pazhoor are presently working on another film, which is directed by Prajith of ‘Oru Vadakkan Selfie’ fame. The movie, which has the actor in the role of a mason, is slated to go on floors from September 20. With Weekend Blockbusters, Biju Menon had collaborated for ‘Padayottam’. This is their second successive film together.
The Basil Joseph-Sajeev Pazhoor-Biju Menon trio is expected to deliver another hit film. More details regarding the other cast and crew members are expected to be officially announced shortly.
